Bid via online auction using a webcam-Madrid via Crewe in the North West of England. The auction seems to go incredibly quickly. In my haste to buy the coin of my choce, an 1824 George iv half sovereign I pressed the button too early and managed to buy the lot previous to my coin! So, what gem did I inadvertently procure? Well, the good news is it wasn't too expensive, the bad news is that they are Gibraltar proof commemorative issue crowns for the Queen Mums 80th birthday (1980). Oh and another even less valuable coin of a similar ilk that I've seen on e-bay at £3.95. I'm thinking of moving house as they take up so much space, the size of them. I guess cheap mistakes are better than expensive ones........exam marking season at the moment, done 250, only another 250 to go, hence my tired Mood above..........bye folks.......Julian
