Can anyone suggest a webcam that has good macro capability? Most of the videos I see of coins get pretty bad when the coin is 5-6 inches from the cam. I'd like to find one that can actually handle nice coin close-ups. None the webcam specs ever really talk about macro ability in their specs. Of course, this would be for VIDEO, not pictures of coins.
I'm out of my depth here but you might find that you could do better and get better macro capabilities with a regular video camera that can be plugged into your computer rather than with a webcam.
Maybe, nonetheless, close-up, macro stuff in most of the videos I see is horrible. At least until you get to a TV camera level. I'm trying to do this on the cheap and webcams are the lest expensive option.
3 years ago I was looking at a 400$ sony full HD camera, it's Macro capability was scary , I could actually see the threads on my shirt from a 2 foot distance! and it was sharp and 100% in focus, unfortunately I do not have the model no as I bought a different model.
