Weak Struck 83

I imagine this is what a weak struck penny looks like? Abe looks 20 lbs lighter. The reverse looks good except Abe in the memorial is very weak and it has the typical die cracks east and west.

LOL ok. I decided to google "weak struck penny" to take a lookie. The first image is this one I posted

This is why you cant believe everything you see on the internet. I am clueless on what is going on here, and now people will see this image and think its so.

 

Could possibly be a partial struck-through grease as well.

Cointalk has very good google rankings. As you said, it does look weakly struck. Abe does look a lot different in both coins. Cool find.

 

Isnt a strike-through when the reverse images appears on the obverse and visa versa ?

No, that is a clash. A struck through occurs when debris becomes stuck in the die and prevents a full striking of the design.
