I bought a coin a week or so ago on eBay from a seller called raccoon_on_roof. I sent payment and he refunded it, saying, "Paypal wants to hold my money for 21 days and I can't do that." Well, we all know that policy is stupid and I wanted the coin, so I asked him how he wanted to be paid. He told me to send him the money privately through Paypal as a gift. Now, it isn't fair that he's avoiding fees that the rest of us have to pay, but like I said, I wanted the coin, so I did it, and I got the coin a few days later, no problems. He had been refusing to accept payment from other people too so he was getting negative feedback, and he had another coin I wanted so I figured I'd bid and get it cheap since other people were scared off. I did and I won - $1.25. So I sent him payment the same as before. Today he sends me a refund saying he doesn't want to sell for that price. What a joker this guy is. I probably shouldn't be surprised that someone who would break one eBay rule would break others too, but I hoped he had integrity and just wanted to get around the Paypal bureaucracy. At least he refunded the money, but geez. With all the negatives he's getting I doubt he'll be selling much longer, but watch out if you see his auctions.
That's just not right. You can't sell something and just say oh it didn't get me the amount I wanted so now you don't get the coin. I'll definitely stay away from that idiot!!
Sounds like an eBay virgin to me. Usually a guy like that hasn't encountered eBay's fees and policies about "all sales are final regardless of sale price". I've seen jokers like that. If ya don't want to sell your coins for any price, then don't bother listing them at all. Thanks for the update and giving me the guy's handle, I blocked him.
The fact that he suggested to you to go outside the payment policy to, as you put it; "he's avoiding fees that the rest of us have to pay" is a lack of integrity. FYI, a search for that seller returned 0 results, so possibly eBay removed their account.
