WOW! Someone posted that the NON "error" Washington Dollars might become more valuable that the "error" Washington Dollars! LOL You would think that the US Mint would have the minting process down pat by now! They need a new QC department!

I think they need to stop making these coins, sack all the mint workers and start again from scratch :S....

In my opinion these errors could be made op purpose to try to get these coins cinto circulation. Just think of the interest this coin has brought to the market. If some one goes to the bank and get 10 rools looking for errors they then have $250 worth that will then go into circulation.

Bad thought. It would get them out of the Treasury vaults but not circulating. The general public, when they start hearing about the possibility of a valuable coin in circulation never get the facts complete. Rather than take the risk of accidently letting a valuable piece slip through their hands, they tend to hoard every piece, good or bad, that they can get their hands on.

I went down to all three of my local banks and all were out except the last one I went to where I got three rolls. I've opened two of them and found nothing...I'm gonna open the last one tonight. My fingers are crossed!

How the heck do you put that in a slab so it's visible though?

i agree bqcoins, i dont like em much either.. but that aside, i do have 4 rolls here i bought fromt he bank, with a few more on order... I have found a few extra letters - one coins has as many as 3 or 4!!!

This is a question for you folks, i have heard about on some coins the letter spacing is wrong - mostly where the '2007 d' and the E in 'E Pluribus' is not spaced correctly.. the D is very close to the E and is supposed to be wide apart ... Well, i found a coin last night where the spacing is off by about 2 or 3 spaces... not as dramatic as what ive seen reported, but stack some dollars together and its quickly noticeable ...

anyone think this is an 'error', or just something that would be within tolerances??
