https://www.ebay.com/itm/313934977212? Not every coin needs to be slabbed,I can't believe PCGS actually can accept these.Look at the other listings I see a bunch of common face value coins.Truly wasted a lot of money and the graders time for much more important matters.
Why wouldnt they accept it, a customer wanted it graded and slabbed and thats what they did. They absolutely should not be the dictators of what coins are worthy
Yes your right,I just don't understand some people's logic like this for example.Probably paid around $50 to get these coins certified and trying to sell them for 50%+ less. Maybe the seller is looking for bidiots to go up to $100 per coin.
I once had purchased a old Anacs soap bar slab that was so poor I couldn't believe that someone paid to grade it..... now remember that low ball grade sets were not in vogue....at the time a soap bar slab was used. A fool and their money.... truer words...
Not the slightest clue why it was sent in. Could be anything from they hoped for lowball interest, thought it was something special, or possibly even they had 8 vouchers and just needed an 8th coin to send the other 7 type thing since all vouchers have to be used at the same time
They didn't exist then...and Anacs BS coupons are just that...a come on to get you hooked, then their add ons cost, and their coupon for a tier up to get your coins back sooner...is again BS! Worthless paper with no value. Because they really don't honor whats on the coupon.
New collector that found some coins they thought would grade good or had errors. They go on a coin forum and ask "what is this worth?" They don't believe the answers they received so they join PGCS. They use the 8 vouchers they got to send them in. They get the coins back and realize the answers they got of "no added value" were correct. They join ebay to try and get rid of their mistake. Rinse, lather & repeat ...... happens all the time. You have seen it plenty of times here on the forum.
Agreed,I was just pointing out and wondering the general idea of Why did the person get these common face value coins certified. What reason for doing it in the first place compared to others.
You know in my 50 plus years in business, both retail, and wholesale honesty got me though...when you're open , honest with a customes your bottom line will grow faster than B S ing them... Yes true its business, but if you take care of your customers everything else will fall into line. When you BS them, lie, and take their money...sooner or later it will catch up! And then like this thread all the negative point surface...and eat away at another customer thoughts whether or not we do business. Yes there's a huge difference between being open and honest...and not. Anacs isn't, asks yourself if NGC, and PCGS charge the fee they do 35-$50+/- a coin and Anacs charges $10 @ coin is there any questions over quality over quanty? I have always been an advocate for the customer service and rights.... and again 50 + years it never failed to be a huge difference on my sales and the bottom line.
? Are you saying NGC/PCGS are BS-ing the customer that wants a common GB 20 pence graded? Or do you think they should refuse providing the requested service?
No thats not what I said! What I said was you only get what you pay for reference to Anacs $10@ coin and bs coupons. I compared the top 2 TPG's and anacs. However yes I do believe that a company should be open and honest. As a meat cutter I could give you a horse steak when you believe that you are buying beef steak. But what price would I pay for my dishonesty? The same here....its called trust. If TPG were open and honest not just waiting on a pay day...their profits would double the 1st year! And why? Because they have their customers interest at heart....not their bottom line. But again a proven fact of over 50 plus years dealing with individuals as well corporations trust and customer service will double your bottom line year one. Went Covid hit ...I was telling my accounts you need to buy big ...let me sell you a container of Jarlsburg cheese...that way your 200 plus stores wont be out of business. And guess what those who trusted me and did as I told them...made out pretty good....the ones who didn't their customers went to their competitors. If I cannot trust you.....why would I do business with you. And it wasn't not being trusted on the buying tip...as some accounts could afford to purchase two containers of cheese. As others didnt have the buying power. Yet if they had extended their purchases they would of faired much better when the factories were closed and no product in the pipe line.
They are honest so not sure what the point of your tangent is. And no their profits wouldnt double the first year by dictating to people what to submit. Your experience selling food is completely irrelevant. People HAVE to eat, they will ALWAYS have to eat. People dont need to collect anything, they dont need to submit anything they collect and they can stop at any time. Collecting is a luxury not a requirement to live
