So technically I pulled these from war nickel rolls, so they’re not from the bank finds, but they’re funds from the rolls I searched through.
I cheated and bought 2 of each of the war nickels. They are nice though. They were graded when I got them.
Yeah, I was hoping I’d find at least one of the 1943/2 or the DDO, but I wasn’t able to find any. These were nice takeaways though.
Thanks. I was wondering. Even I noticed that one. Some crazy laminations there, too, which of course are par for the course with Warnix.
The 43 p /2 is a variety that actually pretty common to find...I have found them from unc. To pretty beat. However many think they found one ,when actually they havent. Think of a fish hook barb. It is the 2 undelaying and broken...there's quite a few that look close as the op posted but not the variety. That complete barb is the key.
Those are some great laminations. Seems that using the silver in the alloy caused them lots of problems, as so many lamination errors showed up in circulated coins. Sort of like quality control said; Oh, here's another one. Just throw it in the bag.
Where did you get war nickel rolls out of curiosity? And how do you usually go about non searched rolls?
I roll hunted 2 of those 1943/2. When I started nickel hunting I was killing it. Didn’t know about the 1st 1943 till years later when I got my red book. Glad to hear about the Monticello
Purchased locally. And there’s no such thing as unsearched rolls. Anyone who claims to have one and is selling it most certainly does not. Sometimes though, you find rolls owned by people who just happened to hold onto them and you get lucky. I did not expect to find this, but am happy I did.
