not even. I say 40cents. It doesnt have 90% silver it has 35%. The condition madders. its worth 25 cents. Do some research about them on google Ricky
there is NOT $2 of silver in a The nickel. Thats way WAY to over priced. Its worth about 40 cents in 35% silver and that site all wrong theres not $2 in mercury dime silver. it weighs 2.11 grams.
Incorrect sir. Coinflation is updated daily and fairly accurate unless the spot price takes a 20% swing or something over the course of the day. EDIT: Of course, war nicks don't sell to dealers or even collectors for the spot price. Just like 40% halves, they're discount silver and you should expect to be paid further back of melt than they'd pay for .900.
Well, yeah, for sure. A roll will sell on ebay for $70ish, a little more maybe. Then after ebay fees and everything, you're still getting near $1.50 each.
Ricky, you can learn a few things around here. Let me show you why a War Nickel has over $2 worth of silver. A War Nickel weighs 5.00 grams. It is 35% silver so the silver in the War Nickel weighs 1.75 grams (5.00 grams X 0.35 = 1.75 grams). There are 31.10 grams in one Troy ounce. A War Nickel contains 0.05626 Troy ounce of silver (1.75 grams / 31.10 grams / Troy ounce = 0.05626 Troy ounce). The spot price of silver at this moment is $39.84 per Troy ounce. So the silver in a War Nickel is worth $2.24 (0.05626 Troy ounce X $39.84 / Troy ounce = $2.24155).
I'd like everyone to know that I will buy all war nickels at 40 cents a piece all day long, please PM me to set up the deal
