The liberty side is blank except for a faint image of an eagal in reverse.there are circular punch marks and a fragment of one side of the plachet missing.also a slight bend to the coin where the fragment is gone.like the coin was caught in the machine .how much is this worth?

I believe this was already posted earlier today, the consensus was that it is post mint damage. Definitely looks like it was ground down because of all the scratches and deep lines on the flat side. Not worth anything special sorry.

This is PMD (post-mint damage). The obverse was planed off.

And the bird is an eagle.

In answer to your question, there's about six bucks worth of silver in that coin as of this posting, if you don't count the amount that was lost when the obverse was removed. It's not going to be worth any more than that. It is worth only the bullion, or "melt" value, in other words.

It would be worth a tiny bit more as a (crude) love token if there was good engraving on the blank side. But there isn't. It does look like there might have been an initial carved on there at one time? Then again, that could just be random marks. I can't really tell from the pictures.

It's worth melt value. The coin did not leave the mint like that; somebody ground it down. As said above, it's worth about 6 bucks.

    Up to $6. Probably less.
