Very cool. Makes me want to go detecting right now. I have the right detector, and I know how to use it well, but for me the real challenge is finding a good place to hunt =/

Could not get a date off of it. Copper really takes a beating up here.

Im the opposite, I just need a detector, my in-laws have 10 acres of field/woods and right next door to them is the amish, who we've all become friends with, they own 100s of acres, they'd let me out there anytime.

Lucky duck. Does the land have any old homes, shacks, outhouses, etc.?

I think the trend is leaning towards private homes and old farms, homesteads etc. A lot of the old parks are hunted hard but you can still find a few that are'nt. I have no problem asking permission to hunt private properties. The worst they can say is NO. And I have'nt heard NO yet. This find is from an old resort on a big lake up here.
