Walked Into BofA Today For My First $25 Penny Box

I walked into the lobby and the first thing I saw was an enormous line of over a dozen people waiting for the tellers. I looked at the line for about 5 seconds contemplating if I should wait, and then I decided to turn around and leave. Suddenly, a very nice young lady asked me if she could help me with anything. I said that I wanted to purchase a box of $25 in pennies, but the line was too long. She said she'll have one brought out to me, and if I had the $25 in cash, she would take it right then. I gave her the $25 in cash, and less than a minute later, another teller walked out of the back room and handed me the box.

I almost always have a good experience at my local BoA. I usually Nickel hunt but switch it up here and there. I picked my first box of halves up today. The next time you make it to the teller ask if they have any halves in their till. If it's a 64 it's 90% silver and 65-70 its 40%. Not a bad return for .50$!

    Edit- Oh, most importantly... HH!

I like Bank of America. My husband works for them and we get pretty good banking perks. I have hear the stories of nasty people at banks. It does get you down if you are looking to start the coin roll hunting process. I joined M & T as well with a free online savingings account which allows you to go to the physical bank bank anytime you want. They do not charge you unless you exceed 5 transactions per month. Guess what? Cashing in coins OR requesting change is not considered a recordable transaction so you make out ok. No fees. You run in to the good and the bad people everywhere. I have noticed, at BOA, the same as you. If you go at certain times there is a long line. I think they are trying to get away from the actual financial centers (banks with tellers) and make it more convenient for everyone by sticking the atms with video tellers and able to take check deposits. Don't be afraid to ask for change. Keep on hunting!!!!
