Wow => that baby has fantastic eye-appeal (very sweet addition, ro) I have one of those cool examples as well ... Oh, actually my club-example is an "As" not a "Sestertius" ... "The most aptly named Emperor" Very nice coin Ro, this one was minted when the wheels really started to come off the bus for Commodus. It was a hard time for Rome.
Very nice coin! There is a problem with photos. It is possible to get a pleasing photo of an as but sestertii tend to look better in hand because our efforts rarely show the size well. Commodus was a prolific producer of medallions but I will not be having to photograph one - that is certain! http://www.acsearch.info/search.htm...s=1¤cy=usd&thesaurus=1&order=0&company=
Nice, dont see the bronzes of this type as much as the silvers. Don't have pf him as Herc even though I could have.
Sweet coin! I almost got one, but lost the high bid. Looked an awful lot like Steves but its not the same one,
Yes, Commodus had that Hercules complex thing going on. But who knows what complex I might acquire if you made me emperor, lol. Super coin!
The coin is back to the vendor, It appears they could not deliver it to you, and are now returning it to me. I am so confused the adress is good
