After I was done with work this morning I went and did some shopping and visited a branch of one of my credit unions that I hadn't been to in awhile since it is a bit out of the way. I asked the teller if she had any half dollars and she said "yes, and they have been here for some time and I'd like to get rid of them." So I tell her I'll take whatever she's got since I can just cash them in at another bank if there is nothing good in them. She counts them out and says she has $17 worth so I hand her a $20 and she counts them out again to me. I kept a game face the whole time - this is why: All 34 of them were coin machine rejects that customers had handed her over the past few months. All dated 1965-1969 and nothing afterwards. Today was a good day!
IGotta love a day like this.. .. I love the smell of silver in the morning....."it smells like victory!"
Wow! Right place at the right time. I think it was a sign from God. Why else would you have chosen to go out of you way to go there ? Amazing haul for sure.
