There were 2 VIP striking ceremonies for the 2000 Sacagawea Dollar. One was held in Philadelphia in November 18 of 1999. The first coin was struck by the ANA President Bob Campbell. There were less than 600 such coins struck. As of today , only 3 have been certified by PCGS . Since the coins were dated 2000, none of the coins were allowed to be taken by the attending dignitaries. On February 25 2000 a similar ceremony held at the Denver mint. There were officially 120 VIP strike coins struck at the ceremony making the Denver mint five times as rare as the Philadelphia coin. This coin that i have is in the original Gov. packaging still wrapped in cello with card board backing. Let me now what you think!
I believe it was to give recognition to Thomas D. Rogers Sr the designer of the flying eagle reverse.
