Hi Everyone, I have looked at the information provided on this forum about materials to use for storing currency. I understand Vinyl and PVC or not a good choice to use, but my question is this: If the note itself is stored in a "correct" type holder and the sleeves them selfs are also, does the binder being made of a Vinyl material hurt the bill in any way? Thank you
In any long term storage your best bet is Mylar-D, These are what major Tpg,s use like PCGS , As long as the vinyl is not in contact with the note You should be Ok
Doesn't the PVC gas off some of the fumes from it? If it does I think that would discolor the top where the slit is for the note. I'm just guessing here though. Let's wait for on of those Engineer types to respond
Thank you for the response, While the notes them selfs that would be going in this particular binder would be graded, so they are all in "correct material" holders and the sleeves are polyester, but the binder they are meant to be put in is vinyl so I wanted to make sure. I don't think they would ever have contact with the binder itself. Any other thoughts? I can also post a link to the binder I am talking about...let me get that also
I looked to see if it was ok to post this information and didn't find anything about it. So here is a link to the binder I am looking for opinions on. http://www.jakesmp.net/CSD_Currency_albums/CSD_SuperSafe_KSB_binder_M.html Thank you again
