Got asked to the homecoming dance. By a boy. Here is the dress. Heaven help me. So there's Victoria. Maybe not quite the one you expected. Now post your Victoria coins. Might be overdoing it a bit, but here are some highlights from Victoria's old 1901 Victorian type set, just... because. Post as many of yours as you like. I never get tired of lookin' at Vickies.
Yeah, I thought I'd branch out from CU a little, since I've noticed activity over there, even on BST and the US Coin Forum, seems to have fallen off a cliff. Must be the stinky new software?
Hope you hangout here more. It's really different than CU. In my opinion folks have a lot more fun here. We even have a follow the lead picture post. You could add some life to it. You are the all time king to threads like it. They need to pin yours to the top on CU. You joined here in 07. Wonder why you show to be a new member?
Yeah! Welcome back! 12 posts in 9 years must be a record. The nice thing about this place is that you can have a huge argument and still be around to have a few beers at the end of the day. Chris
Good Lord I haven't seen you around here in what seems like a 100 years ! Either I really am gettin old - or time's flyin !
Hi Rob, maybe a bit akward to say Wellcome on CT , since you are a longterm member already . I took the plunge a couple of months ago, very active forum overhere with lots of knowledge amongst the ancient coin members. 10 years ago I joined the PCGS forum, especially for the U.S. & World currency paper forum, but world paper currency hardly shows up these days. and without you the World & Ancient coin department would be a lonely place. I think the first Victoria (in the garden) is by far the best of your collection Vickys
I'm just amazed he's still collecting those old things I mean if memory serves, it was 16 years ago, or more, when I first saw him posting pics of them. I do believe it was when that cute little girl, or used to be little anyway, was a recent addition to the family !
Actually, the 1901 Victorian set, like my onetime famous Holey Coin Vest and Holey Gold Hat of avatar fame, are all gone now, with the exception of the Terner-pedigree half-sovereign in the OP, which now resides in my Box of 20. I rolled the Vickies into an 1842 Dahlonega half-eagle, which I'm holding for Victoria when she gets older (and in the meantime, that too holds a place in my Box of 20). As to my appearance here after only nine posts since 2007, you can thank Zohar and Mat's casual mentions of "CT" over on CU. I knew they weren't talking about Connecticut, so I got curious and came over here to see if I had login credentials. Lo and behold, I did! 'Tis nice to see a thriving community. CU is not what it used to be. I've spent 15 years and over 57K posts there, so I won't jump ship completely, but what I'm seeing here tells me that perhaps I should spend a little more time here instead of there.
Here are a few of the prettier ones I have...Sorry I have been too lazy to take my own pix for all of them.
Stinky? It sucked from the beginning. Maybe because there are too many sticks up the 'Commando'. Change comes slowly to those who refuse to see the future, and those sticks in the mud ain't seein' it. Update the software for cryin' out loud. After all, it ain't like they ain't got the money to do it..........
@coin_nut- I like the color of that 1890 sovereign. @green18- I read the rules here and it said we have to use language appropriate to a 1950s TV show, so I went with "stinky" instead of the usual s-word I've been known to use to describe the PCGS/CU software.
Good to see you here as well M. I'm on CU as WorldCoinsDmitry, but this is my main and favorite forum. You'll find people getting into more "discussions" that involve petty and personal insults (at least in my opinion based on what I saw in the CU world coins forum). But also a lively and robust community
