After work today I thought about what today is, and remembered all the things available to veterans today.
First stop was a badly needed oil change. I mean all I had to pay for was the oil filter, yes.

As I sat there I started to think about my recent JA purchase.

And now I sit waiting for my wife to get ready so we can go eat, Applebee's, yumm.

    Still thinking about this coin,
    A sweet As Domitian

    IMP DOMITIANVS CAES AVG

    SC within wreath
    RPC 2023 (I think)

I got it to go with my

HAPPY VETERANS DAY FELLOW VETS :)

Feel free to pile on with what ev....

Nice coins, that's one of the best Syrian Domitian As that I have seen, we in Aus had our remembrance day yesterday.

    Thanks and thanks.
I usually wait until the 2nd day and was a little shocked no one had bid on it. I wanted it enough I would've bid anyway and my coin choosing and buying has been rather slim as of late.
I had been looking for a nice Domitian As for my collection, this fit nicely.

  6. Carausius

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

Indeed, thank you to our veterans for their service. A few CONCORDIA MILITVM coins and a FIDES MILIT coin seem an appropriate share here. The first (reverse only) is Marius. The rest are Carausius.

Here's my favourite Domitian As. Virtus , a (female) soldier ,stands for courage.

I definitely value all veterans for their sacrifices. I don't have any input on the Ancient coins, not my expertise ha ha

If I can find where I put the piece that broke off, I'll have to try the super glue fix.

Thanks all for the replies and cool coins

I have seven family members that fought in WW2. One in the Afrika Korps/ 3 in the SS Panzer Divisions/ 2 U-Boots/ 1 in the Navy....only one was decorated with the Knight's Cross.
All survived the conflict, five of them, are still living back in Germany. Of those five/ 3 are avid stamp collectors/ two are into Ancients/Medieval coins:)

As veterans, we get lots of free stuff today which is a nice perk of being a veteran. Although not tied to being a veteran, @Sallent gifted me a nice Valentinian coin that arrived already, but I don't yet have pics, and @Victor_Clark sent me six coins. I will get pics posted as soon as I can.

A big THANK YOU! To both of them!

Well usually small businesses express their gratitude with a free cup of coffee or a discount.
