I was at my gramma's for her birthday talking with my step grampa. He should me three very old dime "cards" filled with merc and barber dimes. They were little savings folders that held 30 dimes each and with each dime showed the "total" saved. I am going to have to get a picture but here is waht was written on them:

1st one. Your Handy Credit Union Daily Dime Saver
    Member Michigan Credit Union League
and the maker - Handford Brown Co. INC, Coytesville NJ

2nd one. Wayne County Employees Federal Credit Union

3rd was the same as the first.

I thought these were pretty cool as I had never seen them. Besides the "coin" vaule of the dimes, is there any added value for the folders to collectors?

    Thanks,

    Erin

i cannot give you much insight on the folders besides hang on to them, but i can advise you to tell your step grandpa to take the dimes out of the folders, the folders most likely have acid or sulfur in them and that will harm the coins; it might already be too late though, but it's still best to take the dimes out and put them in a dansco or something of the sort.

Hope this helps you and your step grandpa out!

Not much value to the holder at this time. Maybe a few dollars.

Erin - If you post the dates on the dimes we can tell you if there are any key dates.

Wow, that would be interesting to look through those. Post back with what you find!

These do sell nicely on Ebay. I am always watching for original type of holders... Makes collecting more interesting IMHO.
