Very odd rim on cent ?

Found this 1986 D and noticed the mixed color. But then noticed the rim. Could this happen while being minted or MD? Looks like a perfect cut all the way around and I don't see any MD cut marks. I'm guessing the obverse and reverse is either a bad mix or from a buffer?

MD. It was in a bezel for a while.

So it was cut to be placed in a bezel ?

It wasn't cut, the pressure from the bezel disfigured the metal.

It was probably a lucky penny similar to the one belowl.
