Very large Roman and a coin from 1720-trying to identify

This is one of the biggest Roman coins I have ever bought not to mention one of the thickest. All I know about it is that I bought it from a local coin show for $10 a few days ago and that it is larger than an As. The only wording that I can make out on the front is ANVS AVG(good thing the Romans didn't use the letter U). The back looks much better in person and depicts someone standing with their arm drawn to someone who is knealing or crouching down. I would really love to know the denomination and who the ruler is.

The second coin is very worn and dates to 1720. I only paid a dollar for it so figured I couldn't go wrong. Looks like a lion on the front. Unfortunately my Krause doesn't date to the 1720s so am having a difficult time identifying it.
    Thanks for any help,
    NOS

That coin dated 1720 is a copper Duit of one of the provinces of the Netherlands - most likely Holland.

wild guess but maybe a Hadianus Sest ?

Hadrian Æ Sestertius. 134-138 AD. HADRIANVS AVG COS III PP, bare head right / RESTITVTORI GALLIAE, Hadrian standing right, reaching out with right hand to Gaul seated left, SC in ex. Cohen 1251v.

okay, I am thinking its this coin...but the figures are reversed

Hadrian AE Sestertius. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, laureate, draped bust right / RESTITVTORI BITHYNIAE S.C, Emperor standing left, raises kneeling Bithynia, who holds rudder over left shoulder. Cohen 1238.

the write up for this coin says 'Emperor standing left' but shows him standing right...so maybe there are both varieties and he has a laureate in this one...dunno...but pretty sure its a hardian coin :) sorry.

I'm going to try and pinpoint that 1720 coin, thanks Aidan. I think you are right on the money Drusus. Check out this scan. After looking real hard I think I can make out an H and a D.

    Hello,

There are many RESTITUTOR "SOMETHING" in Hadrian's coinage. I think Drusus is right in the direction he shows, but it can be another, with laureate head, AND the figures on reverse in the right position. I'm at work now, and of course books are at home...

Your 1720 coin is, as Aidan already wrote, a duit from Holland. Depicted is a lion with 'freedom hat' in the garden of Holland.

I actually found the coin on ebay. As it turns out "Hollandia" has completely worn off of the coin which is why I had trouble identifying it. Thanks for the help everyone.
