Do y'all think this is PMD? There are 2 areas on the tree to the left that I took close-up pics of. One looks like a gouge and one is raised (like an extra limb). There is a set of 3 ?die chips/gas bubbles? under the CA in America on the obverse. There is also one between the E and R in Quarter (pic in next post). I also noticed a minor ?die crack? under E Pluribus (pic in next post). I couldn't find any listed errors so I'm thinking PMD but wanted another eye or two on it before tossing it back in the bunch.

I have no knowledge on state quarter varieties, but I don't see why you can't put it in an oddities box until a later date. I'm not saying it is something, just recomending a bit of patience. It was new years day when you posted it. Good luck:smile

I say you guessed the 3 raised areas as die chips correctly and I would say the other gouge type marks to be PMD.

Thanks for the 2nd opinion. I know it's hard with pics and take each and every person's statement into consideration that takes time out of their life to look at my pics and posts a reply. Also a big thank you to Numis-addict as well.

Anytime. I am not an expert by far, but I would like to think I have learned a few things that may be of help to others, especially with a 2nd opinion.

I'm not sure if those 3 bumps are die chips, as die chips are usually attached to something. They also don't have the general rough shape of a die chip. I would venture that they are a series of die gouges or die dents, possibly plating blisters if those are found on other coins besides lincoln cents.
    keep up the hunt!
