Hi. I was wondering - I have several coins (mostly Lincoln cents) that I have set aside as possible errors. What would be the best way to go about verifying if they really are errors, or just post-mint or machine damaged? A coin show? send to some expert? or something else? Any/all advice appreciated.
Hi and welcome to Coin chat. if you take some clear pictures and post them, people here would be happy to help out.
Welcome to the neighborhood! If you could post good, clear photos of the obverse and reverse of each coin plus close-ups of each suspected error with an explanation (one coin at a time), we might be able to help you here. Chris

thank you everyone for the replies. I would love to post pictures and get y'alls opinions, but I doubt the camera I have available could manage anything useful. I will see what I can do though. It may be a few days before I can do it though. Thanks again.
You don't need fancy equipment to take pics. Use what you have available (read my thread posted below). Post your pics on a site like photobucket which will allow you to keep the pics as large as necessary. http://www.cointalk.com/t114269/
Welcome to CT. I think everyone already said the correct thing to do and help you with any questions you may have about your coins. Have fun.
