I purchased some silver rounds/bars today for a great price. Here are all the different ones that I got. I'm looking to move these soon but I wanted to see if there was anything worth more than silver spot price. As far as I know these are all bullion but I wasn't sure about the Canadian ones. Thanks for any help.
First row --- novelty, none is silver Second row: -Libertad, not sure of authenticity, can't tell for sure from picture -Canadian smaller coins - look real -last one, not silver Third row: -Indian Head coin - not sure, looks fake -Maple Leaf - completely fake -last one - not silver If the 2 small Canadian coins are real, which I think they are, you got a great deal, they could be worth 300ish combined.
Thanks for the replies. Can you tell me what you saw that makes you think that the Maple Leaf is a fake and why the others aren't silver? Trying to educate myself. Thanks.
The liberty and eagle one is 1oz German silver which isn't pure 999 silver: http://www.ebay.com/itm/One-Troy-Ou...-NO-RESERVE-/111266042546?hash=item19e7f912b2
i don't really understand how coins can say they are fake with out even seeing them ??? i would say as other ahem said the 2 in the middle row would bring a nice premium over spot !!
Yup - 2 in the middle seem to be the winners. http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/fine-...y-mintage-10000-2013-prod1670015#.UuWI4xAo7IU http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/fine-silver-coin-mallard-mintage-10000-2013-prod1640006#.UuWI_xAo7IU
Maple Leaf 1 - the field of the coin is wrong, there were no proof Maples that year 2 - the details on the leaf on the fake coin are a joke. missing veins, poor detail 3 - the shape of numeral "1" is different 4 - no engraver initials on fake (SB) 5 - queen's nose is facing downwards on fake 6 - queen's mouth is different 7 - R and S shape is different First row - nowhere on those bars does it say 999 1 oz silver. The shape is odd, not standard 1 oz bar shape. Seen those a lot on ebay selling as novelty. They are silver plated if best. Second row -there are known fakes of 2008 Libertad but can't tell from picture -last with flag, nowhere says 999 silver, simple google or ebay search shows it's no silver Third row -Indian coin - poor details, proof finish, 90% it's fake -Last coin - german silver
The 2 small Canadian coins could be worth hundreds, just wait someone who collects Canadian coins to confirm authenticity, you may want to keep them.
From what other people have told me and from what I've researched, all are non-silver or fake. What I'm not sure about is the Canadian $10 coin but I'm not hopeful. Sent from my SCH-S738C using Tapatalk
Got my money back...no problems. Also I stopped by a local coin shop and picked up 20 Canada nickels for face value. The dates range from 1923-1959. Sent from my SCH-S738C using Tapatalk
