hey guys, i don't collect coins, but i used to like them when i was little, like 7-10 years old. most of these are coins people gave me or ones that i found, check them out. BTW, should i take these to a coin specialist and see if they're worth anything? none of them are mint. i haven't really looked at them in 15 years
Nice assortment and welcome to the group. I don't know a lot about foreign coins but I'd say that the foreign ones you have are all pretty common and only worth a few cents each. The only American coin you have that has a shot at being worth more than face is the Peace Dollar. If these have all been kept together in a bag or box the Dollar likely is scratched up a bit which would reduce its numismatic value, but it's still worth $10 or so in its silver value. At the very least, your US and Canadian coins are spendable as they are (don't spend the Peace Dollar).
Nice coins you got there! The only good thing I see, is what David said, which is the Peace Dollar, on the top row, and the second one from the left. It's worth a little over $10 in silver, but should sell for around $15-$20, depending on its condition and date. Can you give us better pictures of the Peace Dollar? Oh, and welcome to the forum!
good collection, thats how most of my foreign coins came from, what has already been said is right most of them look very common, i have most, there are some i don't have, keep them, there from your childhood and you can probably remember the person who gave them to you, like my parents gave me my French, South korean, and Japanese Coins and my sweden, finland, denmark are form my grandfather, the peace still looks good even with the scratches
It is a nice coin, close to an AU-50. I paid $18 for a similar coin in similar condition at a coin show two years ago. You probably could get $20 for it today.
Nice little collection you got there Video. Ill speak on behalf of the Canadian ones you got. Nothing jumps out at me, the 1978 quarter you got, there are 2 varieties out there. Large denticle (denticles are the ridges you see along the entire faced edge of a coin, not on the side) and a small denticle. The small denticle version is can be worth about 5 bucks more than the other one if the coins are in perfect condition. a Mint Select is worth 10 bucks. The Canadian 5 cents..nothing special, the Canadian dime, I can't read it properly from the pic. If its made prior to 1968 it will probably be made of silver. Tell me, whats the date on the small coin that has 2 FR on it. 1874?..It looks like it may be made of silver. (2nd coin from the right, 3/4's of the way down.)
