Twiggs, those Cypriot banknotes are getting very difficult to find,as Cyprus is going to be changing over to the Euro some time in the next few years, along with Malta.British Commonwealth collectors are buying them up big time.

The market for colonial Hong Kong banknotes has strengthened very recently.Again,it is the British Commonwealth collectors who are buying them up.Any banknote from Hong Kong that bears a date of the 1st. of July 1997 & later will not find a place in my collection.

the egyptian notes, they are nice but when you look at them you would never guess they are from the 70's. They don't seem to hold up too well.

Do you own any now Jon?

Cyprus & Malta are both British Commonwealth member states, but their coins & banknotes are tough to find. The 1975 1 Pound note is listed in Pick, but it could have a different 'P' number to the 1978 one. It's been a very long time since I last bought a banknote denominated in Maltese Pounds.
