Hi Ken ! I'm new to coin collecting and I saw a video on you tube that said to to weigh my 1982 D small date pennies. Out of like 200 only a couple came back weighing 3.0 to 3.1 .
How can I verify that it isn't the error that was discovered because my wife says I'm getting excited for nothing.

Great information here @GDJMSP Thank you very much for taking the time to do this.

    Welcome to CT!!!
    Your wife may be right.
The 1st thing I would do is take photo's of the ones that weighed around 3.0 grams and post them here on CT in a new thread. Then we can take a look at them at make sure they are small dates. Some large dates can look like small dates and can be easily be attributed incorrectly.

It would be cool if you actually found a 1982D Copper small date....but the chances are less than slim.
