Any experts out there who can give an opinion on this 1923-P reverse? Is this post mint damage or a broken wing VAM?

    Looks like a planchet lamination.
VAM's are slight to moderate variations in Morgan and Peace silver dollar dies caused during their creation.
Planchet defects do not result in VAM varieties.

Thanks for the reply. I know it's a bad photo and the coin is very worn.

100% certain that it's a lamination error due to (most likely) a poor mix of silver alloy. Some kind of debris was in the mix.

It is a VAM, all Peace and Morgans are VAMS. Basically a VAM is a die marriage, which is a variety. That is lamination which is an error. :p

There will be a test later.:)

I'm calling out sick the day of the test. Actually I was asking if anyone thinks it is the broken wing VAM.
Not really looking for an education here!

Then the plain and simple answer is no.
