1BB . I think I see the crack running through the tip of the " 1 " http://www.vamworld.com/1923-D VAM-1BB
I think you're right. Thanks for the help. I wish Vamworld had more and better pictures. They usually do.
While it is open source, we ask that you post edit requests on the message board first. There are a small handful of guys that do the majority of page editing, especially anything more than a little generic tweak here and there.
I found that out. I was just trying to contribute a couple of pictures for this particular Vam because the one they had wasn't very good. I wasn't hung by my feet, but their message came through loud and clear. Why didn't you warn me?
Because my batteries ran out, on my crystal ball . How was I suppose to know you would be like a kid in candy store . Lol ...
Absolutely not true. If you don't follow the instructions for posting pictures or mess something up, then you may be admonished, but mostly by people that want to help you get it right. Make sure pictures you upload have filenames that are not default names given by the camera. Rename them with a prefix that is your user name, for example. You are encouraged to add or even replace pictures that help attribution, as long as the pictures are adding value, and not simply another picture of the same thing or pictures that show nothing well. I would simply add the first image you posted (the obverse showing the extent of the crack) to the 23-D VAM 1BB page under "additional photos." The others aren't necessary. Keep the upload size and quantity of images to something that is mobile-friendly. Many people prefer to delegate adding pictures to a few people there, which is why it may seem that there are only a few approved VAM page editors. Some people there will be eager to help with formatting pictures, since not everyone who wants to add photos knows what they're doing and we end up with a huge image that doesn't show anything, messes up the format of the pages (or the discussion board), or is a really large file size. The VAMWorld platform is Wikispaces, which has plenty of weaknesses from both user and administrator standpoints, but it works remarkably well, considering the amount of information that has been uploaded. Finally, if anyone there gives you a hard time about this, I'm an administrator there, so let me know.
Thanks for the clarification messydesk. I got my hand slapped, but that's O. K.. I'm a big boy. I am an administrator on a site myself and know the headaches. VAMWorld does an excellent job and supplies an invaluable tool for many collectors. I've used it many times with usually excellent results. Have a good day.
