These are some of my dads things that I told him I would try to get a value on for him. I'm posting the Chinese one first. According to my dad it is stamped with a "D" which meant it was supposed to stay domestic and that it was snuck out of the country. Not sure if that is true or not but that's his story. Here is the pic....he has 2 of these and they are in a hard plastic shell thing and then wrapped in plastic so not sure how good the pics are gonna be.. The next 2 are mexican coins. It looks coppery in color in the picture but in person it looks like gold (not saying it is just looks like it). It is also very heavy.
This one is so much nicer in person. I can't take coin pictures and this was taken with my cell phone.
Here is one he gave me....sorry for the pics I need to take time to learn to take coin photos. He also gave me a 1946 Quarter my first silver one. Gave me a 1941D mercury dime and 2 1906 Liberty head nickels and a 1907 Liberty head and 2 1911 Liberty heads one gold in color. Any idea why this one is gold?
I know some people goldplated the 1883 V nickle without cents , to try to pass as a $5 gold piece , maybe someone thought it would be cool to gold plate one as evidenced by other Gold plated coins I've seen , even a peace dollar . rzage
