Part of a collection I recently got from a brother-in-law as part of an estate ("divvied up" three ways) includes these. Can anyone give me any info? I'm looking for price guidelines for selling these. Thanks in advance for any help. The Great Britain/Ireland set is one of two complete proof sets. And, there are some plastic encapsulated CCCP coins; they look like silver bullion coins made to commemorate the 1980 Olympics in Moscow... I'm wondering what their metal might be. There are four of each denomination, each with a differing reverse design with an Olympic theme. Years vary; the earliest is 1975; latest is 1980.
The USSR 1977 10 Roubles looks proof to me. Its worth $20 and the 1977 5 Roubles is worth $10. Both the coins are made from 0.9000 Silver.
Thank you both for the info. I have some Yen coins I'll post photos of later and hoping for info on them. One question - is any premium placed on the Roubles since the USSR no longer exists as it did then? Thanks again - Bill
No, there won't be any premium on these Rouble coins just coz USSR no longer exists. The values I quoted are 2009 catalog values. Of course these catalog values are just price guides and do not reflect the original market values of coins.
