I found a 1954-S/S/S Lincoln cent in my cash register yesterday. I love RPMs, but have not seen a value guide other than the Cherrypickers books. Does anyone keep track of these guys? Sorry I don't have a camera capable of a decent picture- it is actually a nice VF+ coin. Thanks- Mike
First off, awesome find! Check out www.coppercoins.com, they have a very good list of RPMs and OMMs, along with value and information. Best of luck, and congrats on the awesome find. :thumb: Phoenix
What dbl wammy, 1st you find a wheatie in change, then it's a nice Rpm, WOW !!!!! Phoenix's link is the one I use as well
Mike, Nice find! I can find no record of a 1954-S/S/S Cent with Copper Coins or Coneca but that doesn't mean that they do not exist. New RPM's, OMM's and Doubled Dies are being found each and every day as more and more folks get into the hobby of Coin Collecting and searching for Errors. The existence for this particular RPM Error may not have made it into the records as of this writing but you could also have a Discovery piece. You might want to contact Copper Coins and/or Coneca and see if the coin should be sent in for attribution. Frank
Nice find. Coppercoins is a great site. I couldn't find an S/S/S. If you can't match to something that is shown, they will help you list it. They are moving and it might be a while before they can look at it.
Thanks for the link! I had his website bookmarked, but I did not realize that the search function did the RPM thing. Great info! My coin is not an exact match for any of those shown. The S/S is north and is clear to a 5x loupe, but the third S is a very clear loop inside the upper half of the S and is only visible with the light shining from the left side. To see this clearly requires a higher magnification. I am not too excited about it being a discovery piece- it is more likely that the existing photos are not perfectly clear on some of the hidden details and that I am missing them. I will contact the gent at his website in February and ask him if he does attributions.Even if he charges more than the coin is worth, I will learn enough from it to be worth the price. Thanks again for the link! Mike
mark_h, Sorry, my digital cam is worthless for micro shots. I'll have someone take a photo sometime and post it. Mike
