I´m trying to find the value of this mint set from 1967 (not a good picture at all, but you get the idea), but it is not listed in Krause. Do anyone know where to look, or is it perhaps a privately issued mint set? Thanks in advance for any help
It isn't a Royal Mint set. As you say, it looks like a privately assembled coin set that some coin dealers put together and sell from what they have in stock. The value would be the sum total of the coins themselves as listed in krause. Because of the late year (1967) a lot of the coins would have survived in high grade because they were hoarded by people in anticipation of decimilisation in 1971 and the rest didn't see much circulation prior to that date, except for the shilling and the florin, which continued to circulate as the 5p and 10p respectively until they were demonetized in 1990 and replaced with the smaller coins we have now......
reply There was sets issued from 71 -73 but as far as i know there was 8 coins in them sets these was the last of the £sd coins sets to be issued and none in 68 Dave
