I have an 1862 Virginia $1 treasury note. It's in excellent condition with no creases or folded corners. From checking around on the internet, the value seems to be between $25 and $60. My question is regarding the back of the note. I believe my dad got this note and some other foreign bills from an auction or an estate sale. All of these bills or notes have a stamp on the back in red saying "Paul Wood Dexter, KS". The stamp is in the middle of the note and is approx. one inch wide by .5 inch tall. How does something like this affect the value of the piece? Thanks so much.
pics would really be needed to determine value. The stamp could possibly kill most value in the note. But with all older notes.. there is always someone willing to pay over face, even if only a wee bit.
oh, my bad! i saw the dat in the OP and thought US note.. never ocured to me it was a confederate note lol sorry mate, i cant help ya! i know nothign about confederate notes. but with the image, someone will be better able to .
