Just wondering if anyone could guess on value. It looks plated and has the loop attached on the top. I found one auction result, but no photos: https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1915-medal-hk-423-pan-pac-expo/643928 And here's some more details: http://www.so-calleddollar.com/scd/souvenir-slug-design-pat-right/ I'm thinking about bidding on this in an auction - it's included with a group of other medals and these are the best photos I can get. Thanks.
I would say it is not a SCD due to who manufactured the piece. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia123559.html https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia123560.html
Most Ive seen are copper? Looks like the plated variety much more desirable as a commem adder.I always wanted to add with my 1/2 ,$1 and $2 1/2 though good luck
Here is the description from the HA auction (but it is for a silver plated example): 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition "Slug" -- Plated -- NCS. Unc. Details. HK-423, R.8. The variant with "C.G. Brinker S.F." on the obverse exergue. HK-423 is silver-plated brass, and one can see traces of the brass alloy on the high points. An evenly struck and unmarked silver-gray matte finish example. The current H & K Reference Guide Book now indicates that all HK-423's were plated. Note that HK-423 is of Medal Orientation whereas HK-424 is of Coin Orientation. And the photo is in the link below: https://coins.ha.com/itm/so-called-...k-423-r8/a/1188-4859.s?hdnJumpToLot=1&x=0&y=0
Well, so this token sold (with the rest of the lot) for $850. A lot more than I wanted to risk on an obscure group of tokens and medals. Hard to see probably, but this was the full lot. Those Kettle tokens are cool too.
