USPS/eBay tracking: THIS is a new one...

I did a BIN from a new seller last Friday, and he didn't upload tracking information right away. I messaged him yesterday asking if he could let me know when he shipped them; so far, I've received no reply.

Just now I got a delivery notification from eBay, saying the package was left in or near my mailbox today at 3:42. Nope -- at least, it wasn't there when I got my mail this afternoon around 5. There was a large (unrelated) package crammed into the box, and some ordinary mail, but no eBay package.

This is USPS tracking that says the package was delivered. I can't think of an easy way to spoof that.

I haven't had this happen before. (No history of mail theft around here, and I'd expect the big box with expensive shoes to disappear before a nondescript small package.) I'm guessing it may have been delivered to the wrong address. Should I report it to the Post Office tomorrow? Any tips?

Definitely contact the Post Office with the info from the delivery notification. Hopefully just a mistake by the Postal Worker as you suggested.

Yes go into the Post Office for sure and talk to them about it. The more time that passes the less chance you have of finding it since their first step is to speak to the driver. There is a slight chance someone marked it delivered and you will get it today but I would not hold my breath.

Contact your local Post Office. I had a customer call me the other day about her parcel. Our (USPS) tracking said it was delivered. She verified the tracking number from Amazon. The tracking number Amazon provided and verified to her was delivered in Wisconsin. She lives in Pennsylvania. It could be a mix up from the shipper or USPS could have delivered it to your neighbor, right numbers but wrong street, etc. Best to have the USPS check into it. They should be able to check the GPS location of the delivered scan for accuracy.

Something similar happened to me a few years ago, only I had the tracker from the onset. When I went to check on it the last day the info I received showed that the package had been delivered at 10 AM and had been left by the door. No way........you can set your watch by our mailman and he doesn't get to delivering things around here until 12:30 PM. Ebay and postal authorities notified and I did get a credit.
