USPS can't find my package

Ugh. Was supposed to be delivered last Thursday with signature required. The tracking comment said no access at delivery location. It's a house with a mail box. A delivery notice was not left at the house. I checked with the post office yesterday. They said they would look for it. I checked again today and reminded them that it was shipped with signature required and that the comment left would seem to indicate the package was on the truck on Thursday. They are looking again today.

Very frustrating. First time this has happened. They always left notifications on previous packages.

I will get refunded by the dealer. But, was really looking forward to getting this coin.

  3. Hang tight. In my experience with the USPS, what was once lost often turns up unexpectedly. TC

If the seller had bad handwriting, it could have gotten sent off to a department where they try to figure out where it goes without you knowing. I could also be that it was gave to a neighbor instead of you.

I recently learned that you don't have to have the package slip to get your package, if you have the tracking number and a photo ID (and you need a photo ID anyway when you go to pick it up at the PO).

You know how dogs are. "Because they can", and all that.

I recall the first (and only!) time I had trouble with a USPS delivery. I was expecting an order that was in excess of $2K, but instead of ringing my doorbell, he just left the package (which was too large for the mailbox) sitting on the porch. It was a good lesson for me. After that, I rented a PO box for all of my deliveries, and I never ever had another problem.

You may want to consider renting a PO box if you have a lot of deliveries.

My mailman frequently delivers my mail to a different house with the same number but different street and vice versa. They are my first place to call when something I am expecting ends up missing. Good thing he is an honest guy (as am I).

A few years ago I sent a package to Ken Bressett, and it never arrived.

18 [or so] months later he e-mailed me that he had received my package

You stated the scan showed no access at delivery location. Your local post office can pull up the information regarding that scan. They can tell the exact location of the carrier when the barcode was scanned. Being a large city they should also be able to pull up a gps image and do a pan so they can see your house.

Speak to a member of management at your office and ask them to find out the exact location of the scan and use gps to see your house.

Most carriers tend to make two common mistakes, right numbers but wrong street or tight street but wrong numbers. They also get north and south and east and west mixed but that is a bit different.

This drives me nuts. Sig required makes me more likely to lose packages than just having it put in my box.

Doesn’t help now, but for future reference if you create an account on USPS.com you can alter delivery instructions on those to give permission to leave in your box, with a neighbor, etc.

    Hope it turns up soon

That was at Santa Anita - very close to where I live. We almost entered one of our Corgis this year he's super fast but easily distracted (i.e. ooh shiny!). Last year my wife was in attendance of the race.
