I have no idea what this is doing in the "Error Coins" section, but it is here. A search of loupe and led bring this thread up http://www.cointalk.com/t40038/. Maybe that will answer your questions.
Thanks for the link. It was in the "Error Coins" section because that is what I intend to use it for. If I needed an LED light to tell the difference between a nickel and a dime, then I should probably pursue other interests.
On second thought, that link wasn't very useful: a lot of rambling without much detail on ERROR coins.
These 2 should answer your question - both from that thread. If you have missed hobo, read some of his posts. They are very enlightening. I have no idea why he has not posted lately.
i have a small one i use mostly for mint marks 5x i think, you would need a bigger one for searching errors.
I think this is the lop http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/product/eschenbach-mobilux-illuminated-magnifier-35mm-7x.html
i have several loupes i use from 10x all the way up to 100x. I rarely if ever use the 100x, but use my 30x all the time! None of them have a built in light - but boy do i wish they did! i am always trying to tilt what i am looking at in the direction of a light source lol
I tried a loupe with a LED last year. Didn't like it as you couldn't control the intensity or direction of the light - it just got in my way. It is now lost in a drawer somewhere...
I got one and use it when I'm away from my others. Fits in your pocket or purse, works great and a good price. http://cgi.ebay.com/30-X-21mm-Fold-...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a4ec4d5a2
