Since I am just 4 coins away from completing my Dansco 1909-1940 Wheat collection , I thought I'd try to find some inexpensive albums to place my duplicate and triplicate coins in. I saw this nice looking Dansco Album for auction on eBay today and thought , heck those cost over $25.00 at my local coin shop (without any cents already in it). It was the model 7100 Lincoln Cents from 1909 to 1986 +. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300433821835 After I won the auction for slightly more than my local coin shop would have charged including shipping , I decided to re-examine the coins that are supposed to be included according to the photos. If the photos are correct , can you find the 1 cent in the whole lot that could more than pay for my entire purchase ?
not sure if just one coin is worth what you paid, but all them together was a great deal! there are a few depending on condition that could be worth it, but would need to see better pictures. i would like to see the '11-D and pretty much anything up to 1920. just hope one is in xf or better. either way a great deal and i wish i would have seen this, because i need something for my lincolns!
I will give you a hint: I usually look at the Wheats first for keys or semi-keys , but I frequently overlook the Memorials
Well , I got it today & they did a switcheroo. They removed the 1970-S Small Date completely and moved the 1970-S Large Date into that hole. Oh well it is a nice Album.
well thats a let down. either way you still got a deal. and i have no clue how i didn't notice the small date......
i picked up a sim album for 33 dollar and i got a large and small date 70 s.. i was suprised.. and mines had alot more early year stuff in it. even if i didnt get the 70 s sml date which i did i still got alot of early cents..
If it were me, I'd never do business with this seller again, and I'd let them know why. The mere fact that a coin was in the slot for the 70-S Small Date is misleading, and there is no disclaimer in the listing that indicates that it isn't authentic. Chris
I feel you. In all fairness they are estate liquidators and according to the volume they do I would say they have employees (helping hands). So I am giving them the opportunity to correct the situation before jumping to any conclusions. Maybe they will discover that someone they rely on for packing & shipping their items , is helping themselves to some of the property. I've pretty much decided that if I need to return an item for a refund that it would be a waste of postage in both directions , so they can either deliver on the item/s or get negative feedback and I can be done with it.
