Friends,Here I am...My first 50 USA error Pennys collection. What its Worth as a Whole? or is there something here that stands out!! A little Highlight. 1) The Purple Penny (Lincolns Jacket is overlayed with strange Metalish coating. 2) A Penny with the E in WE and TRUST Missing Entirely with its own Metish coating 3) A Penny that I saw EXACT on a Auction website connected to E-bay. 1970 4) A penny where Lincolns face is Shaved OFF! 5) A Penny with Lincolns face features of Sluggish. 6) A Penny that looks like its about be Cut in Half by a Machine. 7) Many with front and Back errors,Mint or Non-Mint I can't comment. Your Advise is apprcieated,on a particular coin,or as a whole collection of my first 50! Someone on the Net said " Error Pennys are worth more than the Older ones" I recently did find a 1924 with " P " Printed on the Back Below between the Wheat Ears. Not a error to me ..its purposely put there,I guess. P for Pihildephia, but how RARE is that? Online so far I cant find nothing with anything like it. And it also has America fadedley Written TWICE on the Back! Wow! Its in GOOD condition.Sorry No picture yet, working on it to upload.Look foward to your critiques...
The majority of your collection are the result of road rash.... that is they are more than likely found in the street or dug up (as in metal detecting finds) or post mint damage (PMD). The only one that I see that is interesting is an off-center strike on the end of the first row.
Im sorry to say but I think most < if not all the coins in the pictures look like Post Mint Damage to me. I could be wrong and I am not an expert but there are a lot of good folks on this forum that are experts and will chime in soon.
Sorry but I didn't see anything of numismatic value there. But as a good friend of mine who has collected 1400 varieties of Lincoln Cents says "my collection is worth $14". lol His may be worth a bit more because his have all been authenticated, but you have at least 50c. Sometimes the value is in the hobby itself.
I have to agree with the others. the coins I see are not errors, but what we call PMD (Post Mint Damage). I suggest you spend some time learning about true coin errors, there's lots of information on the web....google is your friend.
Top row fourth coin in the first scan, looks to be a clip a better picture would be need to tell if it has the Blakesley effect to tell if its genuine.
