USA 1 cent 1997 D: color difference

    I have found two different USA cents dated 1997 and bearing mint mark D. One of two is the normal copper color, but the other is clearly more yellow, also compared with all other USA cents I have in my collection. It doesn't seem to be guilt...
    Any opinions from you as experts in the USA coin collection?

    It's probably a bronze plated cent..... keep it, I have a few also..... very yellow, some very very yellow. From what I've seen they will sell at a small premium depending upon the amound of yellow (bronze) that is apparent on the cent

    And this bronze plating is done by the US mint? Or is it done after the minting?
    Are your pieces also thesame weight als the normal ones?

    it's an error in the alloy by the mint.. yes, same weight.
