Not sure where to place this on the forum, so i think this is the right place. As you propably allready know i am collecting US coins. Now whit some researching on coins i came across us tokes to. Not much i can find on google about it (google is not my best friend) so i was wondering where i could find information about tokesns from he US Who collects them here on the forum, where do you get them, ... Seen some nice tokens allready and looks like a fun adition to the coin collecting
It's way too big of a topic. There are many tens of thousands of different tokens and token like items that have been made in the US of hundreds of different categories from bus tokens to coal tokens. Most of these tokens had mintages of exactly "1000" and probably about 80% no longer have a single surviving example. There are also countless medals that have been issued. I collect quite a few types of tokens and would be happy to provide more information if you can be more specific as to your needs or interests.
At the moment i dont realy know what kind of tokens i would like to collect. I have placed some small bids on a few tokens on ebay so when i win those bids and i recieve the items i can better descide what tokens i like the most. These are the ones i placed a bid on: Roosevelt Teddy COIN TOKEN Kentucky Coin Token Dollar US USA FREEDOM HILLBILLY U.S. Silver Depository EST 1938 West Point NY Mini Coin Trust Cash Value 10 MILLS PTC Philadephia Good For One Cash Fare Toronto Transit Commission (QUANTITY 2) Beer Token No Cash Value Chucke Cheese 1985 So far judging from the pictures i like the Roosevelt and Kentucky token the most. So i thing the tokens i want to collect will be tokens like that
Tokens are fun to collect koen. There are so many types though that you have to limit yourself unless you have really deep pockets. Civil War and sutler tokens are fascinating because of their history and sometimes unusual designs. I collect counterstamped coins which are also considered tokens. A lot of history surrounding them as well. Good luck and keep us posted. Bruce
Koen, your "Freedom Train" would more appropriately be called a medal. A medal is produced to commemorate a person, place or event. Chris

Yes, it is a medal. One thing you might find on FleaBay is that some sellers don't really know what they have while others will try to "cover all the bases" by advertising something like "coin, token, medal" to give it a better chance to come up in searches. Chris
That is not good :sI did a bid on that one, because i tought it was a token. not that i am going to loose much money on it, but still i feel like the seller sort of misled me with his description. Anyway to cancel a bid?
Yes, it is possible to cancel your bid, but at 99c, you really can't go wrong. By any chance, is your max bid higher? If so, you might want to contact the seller to withdraw your bid. Just tell him that you changed your mind. Chris
max bis was 1.50 so like i said not realy a great loss. Think i am going to keep it anyway when i win it, like the design.
I made up my mind about the tokens I am going to collect CWT's, man i saw some realy nice ones for the financial part of the collection. How far can i get with $25/month?
