I just received an email request to participate in a US Mint survey. The email address is not a .Gov address. Spam? Phishing?

I did not open the link.

    Anyone else get this?

    Thoughts?

If I remember correctly, they farm out their surveys to a third party contractor.

They do elude to that fact in the email. However, if I were the author of a fraudulent email campaign, that's what I would say as well.

    True true.
I think the company is na----something. I can't remember. They were also the ones conducting a survey at the last Baltimore Whitman show I attended. They gave us a American Innovations Dollar and a Ronald Reagan dollar coin reusable bag for completing their survey lol.

    You're right on track. Quote.....

"NAXION, an opinion research company in Philadelphia, is conducting this survey on our behalf to identify how we can improve the products and services offered by the U.S. Mint. This is a research survey only. We have nothing to sell."

There's also another company that conducts surveys for other parties. I can't recall the full name but is has "monkey" in the title. I don't open them.

If you're not being compensated for your time, why bother?

They ask my opinion all the time (survey) but they never listen......

    Me either. I keep suggesting:
    • More base metal non circulating junk.
    • More "dollar" coins that never see a cash register.
    • Weird "inverse high-definition frosty etched" proofs
    • Endless quarter programs
    • Really, really, expensive, ugly little gold & platinum coins
    • Commemoratives commemorating stuff nobody cares to commemorate.
But they never listen to me.:(

I did one last year and I'm pretty sure it was from Survey Monkey. The Mint uses a third party to do the surveys.

A tactic used by con men. Several years back I filled out one of those surveys to win a Florida cruise trip. The following week got a phone call saying I had "won" but needed to pay the taxes of three-thousand. Or some stupid high number.

But this was at the official US Mint set up....at the Baltimore Whitman coin show....
We sat down at a table with their ipad, answered some questions on what coins we liked, and were done in like 5 minutes. Got some US Mint swag for our time. Not a scam like you are referencing. Not that what you say doesn't happen all the time.
