Last week when the mint announced the Last chance sale...they made a price error on the 1/10th oz Proof Platinum eagle...it is currently selling at 199.00 when I signed on and bought it..it was liosted at 154.00....took delivery yesterday!! Finally one over on the mint! LOL anyone else take advantage of this? RickieB
I'm not sure how much you put over on them Current spot on platinum: $841, 1/10= $84.10. Your proof premium= $69.90 or 83.12% premium for platinum proof.
overpriced as i say again and again. the mint charges us too much on those new products. for that 1/10 oz platinum. i think it might go down to only $50.00 by next year.
Frank...I understand that...and I am fine with it as well. Since I have the entire issue the 2008 was a must have. Not worried about the premium..I wopuld never sell a proof at melt anyway..and no one else would either. The set is far more valuable than the individual coin. Take care... RickieB

Me too. As I've said in another thread, I've never seen platinum anything. I'd like to know if there is a color difference compared to the silver. zg
Jaceravone has one in his sig line, in the post right above yours! What more is there to see? Platinum looks more silver, than silver to me. Almost like solid mercury or something.
