Hi Everyone, I just wanted to pass along some information related to the certificates. I recently received a couple of gift certificates for my birthday. I was excited because there were some 2014 items I wanted to get from the mint. So I go onto the site and pick my items. I go to check out and put in one of the certificate numbers and got an error message stating the certificate number could not be found in their database. Tried the 2nd one and got the same message. I checked the FAQ's but nothing really there addressing my issue. It did say that I could only use one certificate per order which was a real bummer. Why would you limit it to one certificate? I went ahead and called the US Mint and was told that the online system was not set up to take certificate #s even though you can type one in. Any orders, with certificates, had to be called in. I though that was pretty lame!! Why have a spot to put a certificate # if you can't use it online? I also asked about the 1 certificate limit. The US Mint rep said they could take 2 which is still weird if someone has more. I only had the 2 so it worked out all right. I placed my order and got a confirmation email but since the commemoratives are back ordered I haven't been charged yet. I'll be keeping my eye on the order so that they only charge me the amount the certificates didn't cover. I just wanted to pass this along in case anyone else gets a gift certificate or is thinking of buying as a gift for someone!!
