I have a question. I’ve noticed that the mint produces medals for purchase by the public. Some of these seem to reproductions of Congressional Gold Medals. Does the US Mint produce miniatures of all the Congressional Gold Medals?
If I remember correctly, all medals regardless of metallic composition have bronze duplicates. There may have been an occasional exception, but it would have been stated in the legislation. Our members may know more correct information.
They probably do or did at one time or another. Medals are constanly being added and dropped from the mints list of available medals. So while they have probably MADE bronze duplicates of most of the Congressional gold medals, they are not making all of them at this time. If you know of one you are interested in, I would contact the mint to see if it is available. Even if it is no longer in active production, if they still have the dies they might still make them on request.
