This coin may be a US large cent. The planchette is copper, approximately 1 1/8 inch (29 mm) in diameter and 1/8 inch (2 mm) thick. The designs and lettering are incused as opposed to being raised above the surface. It appears to have been pressed between two coins, resulting in image and lettering being reversed. The obverse of the coin is slightly dished (concave), which may account for the lighter impression. No date is visible. Any thoughts on this one? Could it be authentic? Does it have any special value?

Still learning about this, so I'm also curious to hear what others have to say.

Agreed, mainly b/c the image isn't pronounced enough plus letters are reversed and whatnot. Still though, I'd love to see more reasons on why it's likely to be a fake.

Incused on both sides it could be a bad contemporary counterfeit, or it was just someone playing around back then but it is not an error.
