Hey, I know this is a coin forum and all, but i figiured you guys might know a little someinthg about paper money too. I was wondering what a uncirculated 2 doller bill went for. And even better a sheet of UNCUT 2doller bills....obviously never circulated
unless it has a special serial # (which I don't know a lot about) a $2 bill is only worth $2. Any Joe can go to a bank and get a never circulated $2 bill for the face cost. They only seem valuable because you never see anyone using them. A sheet of uncut bills would be worth at least a little more then the face value...but I have no idea what.
Depnds on a date really. Waht's the date of the $2 note, and the uncuts? If a recent uncut sheet then I will say about $20-$30 on the uncut sheet if it is an uncut sheet of 4. Phoenix
Phoenix21 is correct, the newer $2 notes dont sell for much above face generally. You will find some districts star notes that had a small run will fetch a premium, but generally, newer $2 notes, 1976 and newer, dont command much over face. If you have a specific note, post a picture would be best, or post the date, district and possibly serial... and we can tell you more definitively
i just picked up 9 two dollars bills at my local bank for Christmas cards 31 years ago when i was 12 - 2 dollars bills were floating around alot in celebrating the 1976 bicentennial - that is why the series 1976 was used only on 2 dollars bills no premium on them - they are still printing - i read some place the Federal Reserve is printing more than usual amount and the rumor is that alot strip clubs order them for patrons to put in the employee's pockets :secret: does anyone know if this is true of 2 dollar bill use ????
I knew someone would find a good use for the $2 bill. That's inflation for you. What you'd get for a buck is now costing 2 bucks. And you still get to put it in the same places.
Anyone willing to go into the "wild" to test it out? I can't because I have to check out parts of my anatomy when I leave the house (after dark). Any takers?
Come on now, they've been geting dollar bills for an AWFULLY long time now. Don't you think it's about time they were getting a raise? And if you go to the BEP's website you should still be able to buy uncut sheets of twos, and ones, fives, tens, and twenties. I don't know if they have uncut sheets of fifties and hundreds yet or not. If the BEP does't have them try the Treasury. I know they are still available.
I've routinely seen full uncut sheets of $50's and $100's on the BEP's website. I've hinted to my wife that I would like a 16-note uncut sheet of $50's for christmas.
