    Hello,

I am trying to find out what this coin is and if it is a legitimate error. Also I am curious what kind of value it would have.

    Thanks,

    Curt

Sorry bud, sombody ruined a nice coin and toyed with it with tools supposedly mill/lathe could've done that, also it could have been made like that to be a magicians coin.

    Thanks,
    Jacob

I think it's the obverse that is blank.

During that period many coins were shaved on one side to be made into love tokens or identity tags for military. This one was not used for that purpose so it would have the value of a curiosity only. A capped die error would not look like this but is another way you get only one side stamped.

Here's the reverse of an 1867 two cent piece that was planed and then counterstamped. Possibly, this was a hotel in Chicago .... Tremont House, 1867.jpg
