Hi guys, I'm here to bother you with another one of my possible error coins :hail:

I know the pictures are less than stellar but when you're a small time collector like me who takes it using a cheap camera and two magnifying glasses, it's as good as it gets.

The error that I am trying to point out is the "S" mintmark of the merc. It's upright instead of slanted.

Ignore the doubling in the first photo, it's my hands shaking.

I'm not saying that it is an error of any sort, because it's probably not.

Since all of the mint marks for Mercury dimes were sunk into the dies by hand, it seems within the range.
I think someone just had a bad strike.

    I don't know where you see where it could possibly an S of S but it's a 1940. I don't think that's a year where they had large S's :(

Cool, how can I tell if it's a large S over small S? The doubling in the first picture is due to my hands shaking.
