I had a Vitellius tetradrachm that kept getting bronze disease, I finally decided to give it the heave ho and found one in much nicer condition and the price was more than fair. Vitellius (69 A.D.) Egypt, Alexandria Billon Tetradrachm O: ΩΛΟΥ ΟΥΙΤ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΑΥΤ, laureate head right. R: Nike advancing left, holding wreath with her extended right hand and palm frond with her left; LA (date) to left. 23mm 12.99g RPC 5372; Köln 260-2; Dattari 340; K&G 19.1. Emmett 196.1
Here is my old one. 26mm 12.1g RPC 5372; Köln 260-2; Dattari 340; K&G 19.1. Emmett 196.1
Very nice coin! I like the earlier one, too, but that's a great upgrade. I'd like to get a Vitellius and Galba Alexandrian so I can finish my 12 Caesars while hitting another sub-collection. Come to think of it, maybe I could go for a complete Alexandria set (minus Julius Caesar...maybe that would be a Cleopatra, depending when her coins began!) ...
